Modpack Launched

Detailed Primary Mod List#

MC Version: 1.21.1

Automation & Building Mods

Create 6 (and addons) The core technology mod that lets you design elaborate mechanical systems and factories using gears, shafts, belts, and pulleys. Create’s latest version empowers you to automate nearly any process – from crushing ores to assembling sandwiches – with a touch of steampunk flair. Its many addons expand on this with extra machines, tools, and quality-of-life features, ensuring infinite room for creativity in automation.

Chipped A building mod adding hundreds of new decorative block variants. It provides special crafting stations (like the Mason’s Workbench) to “chip” blocks into stylistic alternatives – from ornate stone bricks to fancy stained glass. Chipped helps you tailor structures or machines to any aesthetic, proving that your factories can be both functional and beautiful.

Macaw’s Mods A collection of mods (Bridges, Doors, Roofs, Furniture, and more) that supply a vast array of building pieces for your constructions. Whether you’re erecting a Victorian-style workshop or a fortified base, Macaw’s mods offer specialized blocks (from bridges and railings to decorative roofs and windows) to enhance architecture. These pieces blend seamlessly with Create contraptions, allowing you to build visually stunning factories and homes.

Supplementaries A grab-bag of useful gadgets and decorative items to enrich your world. It also adds small touches such as jars, flags, and hanging lamps to give builds detail. Many of its contraptions can integrate with Create’s redstone or motion, adding functionality to your mechanical builds.

Exploration & World Mods

Terralith A world-gen overhaul that injects over 85 new biomes into the Overworld, from sky-scraping Highlands to mystical Grove forests. Terralith stays true to vanilla style while amplifying diversity – every exploration feels fresh with novel landscapes, flora, and cave systems. It ensures the world is vibrant and full of wonders just beyond the horizon.

Tectonic A terrain generation mod focusing on realistic, grand landscapes. Tectonic creates massive continents, expansive plains, and colossal mountain ranges that dwarf vanilla hills. Expect sweeping vistas and natural wonders on an epic scale – ideal for gliding across with your paraglider or laying long rail lines for your Create trains. Terralith and Tectonic together craft an overworld that is both varied and breathtaking.

Structory A structure enhancement mod adding atmospheric, lore-friendly structures across the world. You’ll stumble upon ruins, towers, cottages, graveyards, and more in your travels, each with seasonal and biome-appropriate designs. These structures enrich exploration with light storytelling and occasional loot, making the world feel lived-in and ancient. Some sites may hide treasure or traps, so approach with curiosity and caution.

YUNG’s Mods A suite of structure overhaul mods (Better Dungeons, Mineshafts, Strongholds, etc.) that dramatically improve Minecraft’s default structures. Dungeons become sprawling multi-level gauntlets, villages more intricate, and fortresses labyrinthine. For example, YUNG’s Better Strongholds turns the End Portal dungeon into a massive, winding complex filled with secrets. These mods preserve the vanilla theme but amplify scale and complexity – rewarding explorers with richer adventures and greater challenges.

Incendium A Nether overhaul that introduces unique biomes, formidable structures, and custom loot to the underworld. Incendium paints the Nether with 8 new biomes (like the perilous Quartz Flats and eerie Withered Forest) and populates them with challenging dungeons and enemies. You might siege a Piglin castle or delve a blazing volcano; triumphing can yield special weapons and artifacts. Incendium maintains a vanilla block palette, making its additions feel like a natural (if more dangerous) extension of the Nether.

Nullscape An End dimension overhaul that transforms the End into an awe-inspiring yet desolate expanse. Nullscape raises the world height to 384 blocks and creates colossal, layered island formations – expect fractal spires, floating valleys, and crystal-laced peaks. This alien terrain makes the End truly endless and unpredictable. Despite the beauty, it preserves the End’s bleak loneliness; you’ll feel small against Nullscape’s surreal vistas. New biomes and far-flung End cities await those daring enough to bridge the void and explore beyond the vanilla islands.

Deeper and Darker Expands the Deep Dark biome into an entire new dimension known as the Otherside. By unlocking an ancient city’s secret portal, you can step into a shadowy realm of sculk-infested biomes, terrifying creatures, and hidden relics. Deeper and Darker adds new armor and tools derived from sculk, plus a powerful boss lurking in the darkness. It enhances the horror and reward of the Warden’s domain – venture into the Otherside only when you think you’re ready for an even deeper dark. https://www.minecraft-guides.com/wiki/deeper-and-darker/

End Remastered A progression mod that overhauls the journey to the End. Instead of simply hunting Endermen and fortresses, you’ll need to find 12 (or more) special Ender Eyes scattered across the world to activate the portal. These eyes tie to different biomes and challenges (for example, an ice eye in a glacier, an ocean eye in buried treasure). End Remastered turns the quest for the End into a true globe-trotting adventure, ensuring you experience diverse content before facing the Ender Dragon.

Better Archeology Improves and expands the archaeology feature introduced in Minecraft 1.20. Better Archeology scatters new dig sites and buried ruins throughout the world, where you can brush away sand and gravel to unearth pottery sherds, ancient tools, and artifacts. It adds more pottery designs and rare finds (some with mystical effects) while staying true to the spirit of discovery. Channel your inner explorer as you excavate long-lost treasures and piece together the stories of a bygone era.

Respawning Structures A tweak mod that causes certain generated structures to regenerate their loot and enemies after a set time. Cleared a dungeon or tower? Don’t be surprised to find it inhabited again later! This ensures that the world remains dynamic and rewarding to re-explore – you can’t permanently pacify the wild. It keeps adventures renewable, but also means you must stay on guard even in regions you thought were safe.

Mobs & Bosses Mods

Bosses of Mass Destruction Adds several new bosses to encounter, each with unique mechanics and lairs. Battle the Night Lich in its ominous tower, the Nether Gauntlet (a massive, animated hand) deep in the Nether, and other fearsome foes. These bosses drop exclusive loot and require careful strategy to defeat. They significantly enrich endgame combat, giving you reasons to prepare automations and gear up before taking them on. https://www.minecraft-guides.com/wiki/bosses-of-mass-destruction/

L_Ender’s Cataclysm A major combat expansion adding difficult dungeons and powerful boss fights inspired by Minecraft Dungeons. Cataclysm introduces deadly arenas like the Burning Arena (home to Ignis, a blazing infernal boss) and the Crystal Archives (guarded by a magic-infused Illager mage). Each boss guards legendary artifacts – weapons and armor with game-changing abilities. These encounters are multi-phase, bullet-hell battles that will test your combat skills and preparedness to the fullest. https://www.minecraft-guides.com/wiki/cataclysm/

Savage Ender Dragon Overhauls the final dragon fight, making the Ender Dragon far more challenging and dynamic. The dragon gains new attacks, smarter AI, and scales in difficulty with the number of players involved. What was once a straightforward battle is now an epic climax: expect swooping barrages, deadly firestorms, and a dragon that truly lives up to its legendary status. Only the well-equipped and cunning will survive this improved endgame boss.

Mutant Monsters Unleashes horrific mutant variants of familiar mobs into the world. Mutant Zombies, Mutant Skeletons, Mutant Creepers, and more roam the nights – larger, tougher, and with special attacks. For example, a Mutant Creeper might survive its explosion or a Mutant Zombie might charge and throw you. These monstrosities turn regular encounters into mini-boss battles. You’ll want to bring high-end weapons, potions, and maybe some mechanical traps to deal with these brutes when they cross your path.

Rotten Creatures Diversifies the undead with new zombie-type mobs each with unique behaviors and drops. You may encounter Frozen Zombies in snowy biomes that slow you with ice, Swampy Zombies that poison you, or Mummified Zombies in deserts. Rotten Creatures adds these and more, making nighttime and caving more unpredictable. Each variant can drop special materials (for instance, a Frozen Zombie’s heart can be used in alchemy), rewarding you for taking them down.

Creeper Overhaul Replaces the vanilla creeper with a multitude of biome-specific creepers. From desert-dwelling bandaged creepers to adorable flower forest creepers that camouflage in blooms, you’ll discover many types (some hostile, some surprisingly docile). Don’t be fooled by their appearances though – hostile variants still explode, sometimes with unique effects. This mod ensures that the iconic creeper keeps you on your toes no matter where you travel, as each biome presents a new twist on the ancient menace.

Enderman Overhaul Similar to Creeper Overhaul, this mod introduces over 20 new Endermen variants across dimensions. Different biomes may host their own type of enderman – for example, a fiery red Nether Enderman or a verdant forest Enderman. They come with distinct behaviors and sounds, enriching the enderman lore. Some are passive until provoked, others might be aggressive protectors of their territory. Together with Nullscape’s terrain changes, Enderman Overhaul makes the End (and endermen encounters everywhere) far more intriguing and diverse.

Golem Overhaul Adds 9 new golem types beyond the traditional Iron and Snow golems. You can now build or encounter golems made of different materials – each with unique mechanics. For instance, a Hay Bale Golem that protects fields from mobs, a Copper Golem that oxidizes over time, or even a Gold Golem with a shine that might attract greed... Some golems are friendly helpers, others guard particular structures. This mod makes the world’s guardians more varied and opens up new possibilities for automated defense using golems.

Piglin Proliferation Greatly expands the Piglin family with new roles and behaviors in the Nether. Piglin Proliferation gives unique traits to vanilla Piglins and introduces new types like the Piglin Alchemist and Piglin Traveler, each filling distinct niches. Piglins might carry new equipment (e.g., Alchemists brewing potions) and drop novel items. Zombified Piglins also retain the look of whatever Piglin type they were in life, adding flavor to the undead hordes. Overall, the Nether gains depth as Piglins become a more complex, culture-rich people rather than one-note enemies. Be mindful – some of these new Piglins can be bargained with, but others will challenge you in fresh ways.

Boss Ultimatum A utility mod that makes boss fights truly do-or-die. With Boss Ultimatum, if players fall to a boss, the boss can heal or even reset, preventing “zerg rush” tactics. Essentially, you’re punished for dying repeatedly to the same boss – you must defeat it in a set number of tries or face starting over. This raises the stakes of battles against tough foes. No longer can you throw yourselves at a boss endlessly; you’ll need strategy, preparation, and perhaps some automation (like auto-brewing potions or turret defenses) to ensure you succeed before your window closes. It makes victories feel earned and boss encounters much more intense.

Combat & Gear Mods

Better Combat Revamps melee fighting into a fluid, Minecraft Dungeons-like system. Weapons get sweep attacks, thrusts, and even combos instead of the static vanilla swing. You can dual-wield weapons effectively, timing alternating strikes, and enjoy new animations for one-handed and two-handed moves. Better Combat also improves hit detection (no more whiffing due to a single pixel miss) and overall makes swordplay and axe combat feel “easy, spectacular and fun”. This encourages taking on hordes of enemies with skillful play, complementing the dangerous mobs and bosses in the pack.

Better Weaponry Expands the arsenal with 15 new weapon sets and more. From daggers and rapiers to battleaxes and halberds, this mod introduces a weapon for every style – each with its own attack reach and speed. It also adds new enchantments (like Vampirism to leech health, or Blinding to impair foes) and even a new shield type. All these weapons are balanced to work with Better Combat’s animations and can be made from materials including copper, amethyst, and emerald, giving more uses to those resources. Forge yourself a signature weapon and enjoy the novel combat tactics it brings (perhaps a scythe for sweeping crowds, or dual daggers for quick strikes).

Combat Roll A small but game-changing addition: the ability to dodge-roll out of harm’s way. By pressing a key (default “R”), you can roll in the direction you’re moving, granting brief invulnerability frames to evade attacks. This brings a skill-based defensive maneuver to combat, akin to many action RPGs. Whether you’re avoiding a Creeper’s blast or a boss’s swing, a timely combat roll can mean the difference between life and death. Mastering it will make you feel like a nimble warrior, not just a walking tank.

Enchantments Encore Massively broadens the enchanting table’s offerings with a vast array of new enchantments (over 140!) for weapons, tools, and armor. It touches every aspect of gameplay: you might find boots that get Hop enchantment for higher jumps, swords with Firestorm to ignite wide areas, or shields with Barrier creating protective auras. Enchantments Encore ensures that as you progress, you can continually upgrade your gear in interesting ways. It’s fully compatible with all other mods’ items, meaning even Create gadgets or Better Weaponry arms can receive these magical enhancements.

NeoEnchant+ Complements Enchantments Encore by adding its own suite of powerful enchantments and sometimes tweaking the enchanting mechanics to be more rewarding. NeoEnchant+ might introduce special high-level enchantments or allow combinations previously not possible. Together these enchantment mods turn the enchanting table and anvil into crucial tools for maxing out your loadout – you’ll want to seek out rare books in dungeon chests and set up XP farms to fully deck yourself in enchanted gear.

Artifacts Scattered throughout dungeon chests and structures are unique baubles and trinkets with special powers. The Artifacts mod includes items inspired by Terraria – like the Cloud in a Bottle (double jump), Helium Flamingo (float in water), or Night Vision Goggles. These artifacts equip in a special slot and often provide ability-like effects rather than raw stats. They encourage exploration, as you never know what useful relic you’ll pull from the next treasure chest. Finding an Artifact can significantly enhance your character (imagine permanent speed boost boots or a backpack that refills hunger), making them some of the most sought-after loot in the game.

Relics Introduces dozens of powerful relic items with complex mechanics and an RPG-like progression. Relics can be rings, amulets, or curios that grant abilities which often synergize with each other. Uniquely, Relics features a leveling and random-stat system: the more you use a relic, the stronger it can become, and no two relics are exactly alike. Some might unleash area attacks when you’re low on health, others might improve loot drops or grant short-term buffs on certain triggers. The mod is designed to adjust to modpacks automatically, meaning the relics will scale their effects in this high-power pack appropriately. Seeking out relics and mastering their use (and combos) adds a whole new layer of progression beyond armor and enchantments. https://www.minecraft-guides.com/wiki/relics/

Relics: Artifacts Compat A compatibility add-on that blends the Artifacts and Relics mods, ensuring their items work together seamlessly. It may, for example, allow certain Artifacts to count as Relics for set bonuses or progression, or unify how they’re equipped (both use the Curios API). In practical terms, this means you can enjoy both mods without worrying about balancing issues or slot conflicts – and in some cases even unlock combined effects. Perhaps wearing a certain Artifact alongside a Relic triggers a unique buff courtesy of this compat mod. It’s all about making two great mods play nicer and feel like one cohesive system of powerful gear. https://www.minecraft-guides.com/wiki/relics/

Survival & Utility Mods

Farmer’s Delight (and addons) A farming and cooking expansion that enriches the way you grow food and prepare meals. Farmer’s Delight adds new crops (tomatoes, cabbages, rice, etc.), a cooking pot for hearty stews, a frying pan for gourmet dishes, and more. You can craft knives to obtain cooking ingredients and build a cozy kitchen setup. Its many addons (such as Nether’s Delight for Nether ingredients and others for additional recipes) ensure no region is left out – you can even cook with exotic Nether fauna. High-quality foods from this mod grant powerful buffs and saturation, which pairs well with the survival-focused Spice of Life mods. Embracing farming and cooking will greatly enhance your long-term survivability and is a rewarding side progression when you need a break from adventuring. https://www.minecraft-guides.com/wiki/farmers-delight/

Spice of Life: Carrot Edition A mod that rewards dietary variety by giving permanent health increases for trying new foods. As you sample different meals (say, bread, then steak, then a salad, etc.), you’ll notice your hearts gradually increase, reflecting improved nutrition. However, eating the same food repetitively yields diminishing returns. This encourages you to explore the diverse food options – including all the Farmer’s Delight dishes – rather than sticking to a single staple. Over time, you can significantly boost your max health by being an adventurous eater, which will help in tough battles.

Spice of Life: Valheim Reforged Overhauls the food and stamina system inspired by the game Valheim. Instead of a hunger bar that you simply fill, foods provide stamina and health buffs and you can eat a limited number at once for stacked benefits. For example, you might eat a protein-rich meal to raise max health and a fruit dessert to boost stamina regeneration. The key is balancing different food types for an optimal combination. This system makes food choices more critical – you’ll plan your diet before a big expedition or boss fight for the best advantage. It meshes with Farmer’s Delight by giving all those complex meals meaningful roles.

Aquaculture 2 A fishing expansion that adds over 30 new fish species across biomes, along with new rods, bait, and loot. Now oceans, rivers, and even the Nether’s lava lakes (with the right equipment) teem with life to catch. You can craft an Iron or Gold Fishing Rod, use bait like worms or minnows, and reel in everything from trout to turtles (and treasure). Aquaculture makes fishing a viable source of food and rare resources – some fish can be cooked into special meals or used alchemically. It’s a peaceful but engaging counterpart to the pack’s combat, perfect for when you want a calmer gameplay moment that still progresses your survival.

Fishing Overhaul Enhances the fishing mechanic with a skill-based mini-game. When a fish bites, you’ll need to keep a moving cursor within a green zone to reel it in, reminiscent of Stardew Valley’s fishing system. A critical catch (perfect timing in the small sweet spot) can even yield extra loot. This mod works with Aquaculture’s content, meaning all the new fish can be caught through the engaging new system. Fishing becomes more interactive and rewarding, turning it into a fun diversion that can still net you valuable items (or just dinner).

Lava Fishing As the name suggests, this mod allows fishing in lava. With a special lava-proof rod or bobber, you can cast into the fiery depths of the Nether or a pool of molten rock and pull up unique catches. Ever wonder what swims in magma? Now you’ll find out – perhaps fire-resistant fish that can be cooked into blazing meals, or even rare treasure that sank into the lava long ago. Lava Fishing expands your fishing opportunities to one of the most hostile environments, making the Nether a bit more habitable for the resourceful.

Nature’s Compass A handy utility allowing you to craft a compass that, when activated, lets you select any biome and points the way to the nearest instance of it. In this modpack’s world of hundreds of biomes (thanks to Terralith, Incendium, etc.), Nature’s Compass is invaluable for navigation. Want to find a specific Incendium Nether biome or a rare Terralith grove? Simply calibrate the compass and follow its needle. This saves time and makes exploration goals more achievable, so you can locate the environments needed for particular resources or End Remastered’s special eyes.

Doggy Talents Next Upgrades the simple Minecraft wolf into a trainable, skill-bearing companion. Tame a dog and then craft treats to level it up, spending points on various talents. You can specialize your dog as a guard (increased attack and armor), a hunter (finds prey and loot), a pack hound (extra inventory space), and more. There are even AI improvements – dogs can be set to follow, patrol, or stay. In a pack as dangerous as this, having a faithful dog by your side who can fend off mobs or carry items is a huge boon. Plus, you can personalize your furry friend’s look and name, increasing immersion as you journey together.

Sophisticated Backpacks Introduces upgradable backpacks that greatly expand your inventory and provide special functions. Starting with a simple backpack, you can upgrade it through tiers (iron, gold, diamond, netherite), each increasing storage slots. Even more useful are the backpack add-ons: you can install a feeding upgrade to automatically consume food from your bag, a smelting upgrade to auto-smelt ores you pick up, filters to organize items, and many others. The backpack can even be placed in the world as a portable chest. This mod is essential for long expeditions – carry everything you need on your back, and customize it to suit your adventure (whether you’re a miner, farmer, or warrior).

Potion Blender A simple but powerful utility allowing you to combine multiple potions into one. Tired of chugging three different potions before a fight? Blend them into a single concoction that carries all effects at once. For example, you could merge swiftness, strength, and regeneration into one “battle brew.” The mod balances this by shortening the duration for each effect when combined, but the convenience is often worth it. Potion Blender encourages creative use of brewing – make specialized cocktails for different situations (a mining elixir, a nether exploration tonic, etc.). It synergizes with Create mod’s automatic brewers or deployers, which could mass-produce these custom potions for you.

Little Joys Adds small random lucky events to everyday activities, brightening your survival experience. When mining, you might uncover a Dig Spot yielding extra ore or treasure; when fishing, a Fishing Spot that grants bonus catches; when harvesting crops, a Gold Rush of extra yield. These “little joys” reward you with surprise resources and XP, making grinding tasks more engaging and worthwhile. It’s a subtle mod, but over time, these extra bonuses can help you along (and put a smile on your face when you stumble upon an unexpected cache of goodies).

Lootr Overhauls loot chests to be instance-based and resettable. With Lootr, every player gets their own loot from dungeon chests, so playing co-op doesn’t halve your rewards – each person can open the same chest and find their own prize. Additionally, chests marked by Lootr will refresh loot periodically, similar to Respawning Structures’ concept. This mod ensures everyone gets a fair shot at treasure and encourages revisiting cleared structures later for new loot rolls. It’s especially useful in a modpack with so many unique items – there are more chances to obtain those Artifacts, Relics, or enchantment books when loot can respawn and isn’t one-and-done per world.

Simple Voice Chat Enables proximity voice chat in multiplayer, so you can talk to friends in-game without external software. It’s crystal clear and distance-based – walk closer to hear players louder, or drift apart and their voice fades. Coordinating during boss fights or when building large Create contraptions becomes much easier and more immersive. It supports group chats and even has an option for voice modulation (like sounding like you’re “on radio”). While it doesn’t affect single-player, for servers this mod greatly enhances teamwork and roleplay potential.

Iris Shaders A mod that allows the use of custom shaders with excellent performance (it’s an alternative to Optifine’s shader support, built for Fabric/Forge). With Iris, you can apply gorgeous visual shaders to make the world look stunning – waving foliage, realistic water, dynamic shadows, enhanced lighting, and more. Given the expansive vistas introduced by Terralith and Nullscape, running a nice shaderpack can be breathtaking. Iris is optimized to work smoothly alongside the other mods, so you can enjoy beauty without significant lag. (Note: Shaders are optional – the pack looks great even without, but the option is there for those who crave the ultimate visual experience.)

Distant Horizons A level-of-detail (LOD) mod that lets you see incredibly far into the distance by rendering far-off terrain at lower detail. Essentially, it enables a zoomed-out “far terrain” beyond the normal Minecraft view distance, so you can gaze upon distant mountains or cities on the horizon without massive performance hits. This greatly complements exploration: climb a high peak and you might actually spot landmarks miles away. It makes the world feel cohesive and epic in scale. The combination of Distant Horizons and Iris (with a lightweight shader) can produce jaw-dropping panoramas of your Cogs & Cataclysm world – all while maintaining good framerates.

FTB Quests The quest book mod used in this pack to guide you through all these features. FTB Quests provides an in-game questing system with chapters, rewards, and checkboxes. In Cogs & Cataclysm, you’ll find quest lines covering each major mod, offering objectives and tips (and some item rewards) to ensure you don’t get lost. It’s highly recommended to follow the quest book as it will introduce mods in a logical progression – from building your first water wheel in Create to slaying your first boss. The quests are designed to be informative and fun, never mandatory, but completing them will ensure you experience the full depth of what this modpack has to offer.
