World of
Warcraft

Where Ambient started, in 2009. The guild raided through Wrath to Battle for Azeroth, quit in 2018, and drifted partly back in 2024 — so this page is the tab list rather than a progression log. Warcraft Forever, out in November, is the first thing in years the group has planned around properly.

Warcraft Forever#

A third version of the game, and the one we are actually planning around.

Warcraft ForeverEverything known about the new level-60 game — dates, zones, dungeons, raids, the Skyborne, the editions, talent calculators — and who from Ambient is in.

Not retail, and not open to the public

The private realm#

Doomhammer is a small Wrath of the Lich King realm a friend runs for a few of us, with bots filling every seat nobody is sitting in. It is invite only and lives entirely on his Tailscale network, so there is nothing to join from here — the page is for the people who have already been invited, and everything operational on it is behind a passphrase.

What is coming, and roughly when

Patch notes#

The running schedule through to the next expansion, newest first, with a countdown on whatever is expected next.

Patch NotesThe retail patch schedule as far out as anything is known, with what is expected in each one and what has actually shipped.

Sorted by what you would open them for

Useful websites#

Every one of these earns a browser tab at some point in a raid week. Grouped by the job rather than alphabetically.

The three you actually need

Wowhead for anything factual, Raidbots to answer "is this an upgrade", and Warcraft Logs to answer "why did we wipe". Everything else on this page is a specialist.

Parse first, theorycraft second

Upload the log, then take the report to WoWAnalyzer or Archon rather than guessing at your rotation from a guide.

Addons are a manager's job

WowUp keeps them current and Wago is where the WeakAuras come from. Installing either by hand is a solved problem you do not need to re-solve.
