Before you install anything

Worth knowing#

Four things that catch every WoW player coming across, answered before the info dump gets to them.

One character, every job

You do not roll alts. Switching your weapon switches your job, so a single character reaches everything in the game — every tank, every healer, every crafter.

There are no addons

The game has no addon API and the native UI customisation is genuinely good. There are a couple of third-party tools, covered in the info dump, but nothing you need.

The story is the game

The Main Story Quest is the spine and it is not optional — it gates features, zones and jobs. It is also the reason people are here, so it is not a grind to skip.

Old content stays current

Every dungeon, trial and raid syncs you down to its level, so nothing you missed is dead. You can unsync deliberately if you want to farm it.
