The Gauntlight is a landlocked lighthouse outside Otari, and when it starts glowing the town knows something has begun. Underneath it is a megadungeon that goes down a long way.

One dungeon, ten levels
What it is#
Three volumes, levels 1 through 10, and almost all of it in one place.
That is unusual for an Adventure Path and is exactly why it works. You get to know a place instead of passing through six of them.
For us this was the middle leg: the party came out of the Beginner Box and went straight down, then carried on into Stolen Fate for the back half of the run.
Where the table changed shape
The party#
Half the roster that walked out of Otari either retired a character partway down or left the game, so the group that reached the bottom of the Gauntlight is not the group that started it — and it is not quite the group that went on to Stolen Fate either.
- DolgorDwarf BarbarianStraight down from Otari without a break.
- ScratchRatfolk WitchThe same, familiar and all.
- Anastasius, then Panamon VoeckHuman Fighter, then Human ChampionOne seat, two characters. The champion is the one who carried on.
- Urd, then BnarDwarf Gunslinger, then Dwarf MonkBoth retired in the Vaults, and the seat stayed empty until Myla filled it a campaign later.
- Rubarb, then HeraldDwarf Ranger, then Skeleton ClericThe other seat that changed character and then emptied.
- DvalinnDwarf ClericLeft the game during this one.
