character
The gates below are short and there are only two of them that will ever stop you. Everything common is yours without a conversation.

Not the same for everybody
Level and gold#
Set per campaign, so ask
A character walking into Act 2 of a running game does not start where the first party did. Tell me which table you are joining and I will give you the number.
Send it before session
Not for judgement — so I can hook the character into the story before you show up rather than improvising a reason for you to be there.
Five steps, in this order
The short version#
Concept first, numbers second. The rest follows from that.
1. Pick the concept first, the numbers second. "The bartender who used to steal things" is a better starting point than a class name.
2. Build it in Pathbuilder 2e if you like a tool, or straight on the Foundry sheet if you do not. Pathbuilder exports into Foundry cleanly and works on a phone.
3. Check the two gates below — rarity, and your Lore topic.
4. Read the house rules. Crafting, hero points, and Lore all changed, and all three affect what a build is worth.
5. Send it to me before session. Not for judgement — so I can hook it into the story before you show up.
Both are short
The gates#
Two things need a word from me. Nothing else on the sheet does.
Rarity needs approval#
Anything uncommon or rare needs a yes from me first. This is not usually a no. It is much more likely to be a yes if there is a side quest or a real roleplay reason attached to how your character got it — bring me the story along with the request.
Common options never need asking about.
Your Lore topic needs a sentence#
If you take a Lore skill, write down in one sentence what it actually covers, and put it in your character notes. Broad enough to be useful, narrow enough that it is not Society wearing a hat.
This matters more here than at most tables, because Dedicated Study lets you push a Lore to expert or master using downtime instead of skill increases — so a well-chosen Lore is genuinely valuable rather than flavour.
No conversation needed
What is free#
Three things you get without asking, one of which is a genuine change to what a character can be.
Free archetype is on
You get archetype feats at even levels without spending class feats on them. A dedication costs you nothing you were going to use — build with that in mind, because it is a real change to what a character can be.
Additional Lore, on a Lore you have
It works on a Lore you already own, keeping the automatic scaling to expert, master, and legendary.
Ancestry, heritage, background, class
All yours. Anything common, no conversation needed.
Two house rules key off it
Backgrounds are not decoration#
Write a background that says where the character has been, not just which two skills you wanted.
- Crafting at 75% requires that your background gives a genuine reason for you to be making that kind of thing.
- Recall Knowledge lets you ask a specific question and I apply whichever of your skills fit — a character with a real history has more skills that plausibly fit.
There is nothing to install
Getting it into Foundry#
Open foundry.xkillerbees.com in a browser and pick your name — there is nothing to install. If you built in Pathbuilder, use its Export JSON and hand me the file or the build ID, and I will import it and set up your token.
Once you are in, the keybindings page is worth five minutes. T to target and 1–9 for your hotbar will carry you through most of a fight.
It happens a lot at this table
New to Pathfinder#
You do not need to read any of it in advance. Turn up with a concept and we will build the sheet together.
